had never heard of loy and goodhew before; on Google they are referred to as fiction, a copy of the book is for sale on ebay for $2.78, listed as science fiction. Perhaps the "TRUTH" IS stranger than "fiction"!
David R. Loy is a fairly well known writer on Buddhism, Non-duality,etc. Linda Goodhew is his wife; I don't know anything else about her. The book's subtitle is more straightforward than the title; it is "Buddhist Themes in Modern Fantasy." It discusses the work of Tolkien, Miyazaki, Le Guin, Ende, and Pullman in terms of "their Buddhist resonances."
